more state revenue stamps

Where court rulings have not voided these programs, some states make it a crime to possess marijuana without first having paid marijuana tax to the state. These tax stamps show the purchaser has paid his/her marijuana tax.
Even if you pay the tax, it is still a crime (except in Alaska, where the current state law permits adult possession of small quantities) to possess marijuana -- but you don't also get charged with tax evasion. States which issue these stamps do a brisk business with collectors who just like to own and trade in the stamps. Almost every state with such tax stamps spells it the old-fashioned way: marihuana. Two Texas stamps, a Massachusetts stamp, and a Nebraska stamp.
