Vice President Dick Cheney had a valid Texas hunting license, but had not purchased the required $7 quail stamp when he shotgunned a hunting companion this weekend. The 78-year-old lawyer is recuperating from face and chest wounds in a Corpus Christi hospital and is described in "very stable" condition.

There is no Texas stamp for hunting humans.
