puking multicolored yarn
Usually I can resist temptations to buy movie-related crapola like Star Wars Light Sabers for $190.072 or a replica of Han Solo's blaster for $499. But I don't know if I can resist this, which hmmm maybe is for sale for hmmm maybe something around $48 or $65.
In the new feature film "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," the crew of a stolen space ship (which looks distressingly like one of my Christmas tree ornaments) tries to avoid being blown up by thermonuclear missiles by pressing The Panic Button, and they end up suddenly turned into knitted dolls, one of whom pukes multi-colored yarn.
This is a wonderfully and unexpectedly enjoyable and sweet-natured movie, and I highly recommend you all go see it. I loved the old BBC-TV version of "Hitchhiker's" and was worried the addition of gazillions of £££ would crap it up, but it's actually lovely. The author of the series of remarkable "Hitchhiker's" books, Douglas Adams, was the Executive Producer, and died during the film's production; the movie is dedicated to him, and reflects his spirit. He co-wrote the screenplay.
More than this I shall not say, because the movie says it much better.
But I do have something to sing:
So Long And Thanks For All The Fish
Composer: JOBY TALBOT
(transcribed to the internet by Chad Wright,
with help from the Official Hitchhiker’s site)
So long and thanks for all the fish
So sad that it should come to this
We tried to warn you all but oh dear
You may not share our intellect
Which might explain your disrespect
For all the natural wonders that grow around you
So long, So long, and thanks for all the fish
The world’s about to be destroyed
Theres no point getting all annoyed
Lie back and let the planet dissolve around you
Despite those nets of tuna fish
We thought that most of you were sweet
Especially tiny tots and your pregnant women
So long, So long, So long, So long, So long
So long, So long, So long, So long, So long
So long, So long, and thanks for all the fish
If I had just one last wish
I would like a tasty fish
If we could just change one thing
We would all have learned to sing
Come one and all
Man and mammal
Side by side in life’s great gene pool
So long, So long, So long, So long, So long
So long, So long, So long, So long, So long
So long, So long, and thanks for all the fish
