Wikipedia says the Muslim holy fasting month of Ramadan will begin on Tuesday 4 October 2005, and end on Wednesday 2 November.

(Under certain circumstances -- the ability to see the moon phase rather than rely on computation, I think -- the last day may fall on 3 November.)

Ramadan celebrates God's revelation (in 610 A.D. in the Western calendar) to the Prophet Muhammad, which became the Quran.

The traditional greetings:

Ramadan Kareem -- wishing you a Generous Ramadan

Ramadan Mubarak -- May God give you a Blessed Ramadan

It's very possible I have much of the above wrong -- an invitation to the world to Leave A Comment which will straighten Vleeptron out about Ramadan. (But I'm pretty darn sure I got the first day of Ramadan's date right.)
